Hello Brookins-Kirkland Church Family and Friends,
This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday — the arrival of the Holy Spirit to the Jerusalem church. When the Holy Spirit arrived, the church — a group of believers — were gathered in a house. On Sunday, as we gather in our homes for virtual worship, it’s my prayer that you will experience Pentecost, the presence of the Holy Spirit. "[F}or he lives with you now and someday shall be in you" (John 14:17).
Jesus said, "The Holy Spirit guides believers into all the truth there is" (John 16:13). He exposes lies and deceptions. Some said it’s safe for churches to reopen even though some worshippers were infected with COVID-19 and even died. They did everything right — followed the social distancing guideline and wore face masks. But, the wrong thing was reopening without God’s guidance. The Holy Spirit is telling me it’s too early to reopen the church building doors for congregational worship. Therefore, we will continue to shelter in place until the Holy Spirit, the AMEC Council of Bishops, and the CDC advises us to do differently.Learn More
